REFLECTIONS

Senior Thesis Reflection:

Chace Hall was a very successful choice for my senior thesis project. The scale of the project gave me the opportunity to thoroughly understand the project, and develop a feasible and unique alternative. This project has definitely grown my skills as a mechanical-architectural engineer, where I was able to freely research and design a relatively uncommon system on my own. I am glad that I was given this opportunity, as I was able to come up with an outstanding mechanical design that I proved to be better than the current design in almost every aspect. Nonetheless, I am satisfied that my thesis project could be used as a basis for further research on Valance Systems and in the design of residence halls similar to Chace Hall.

CPEP Reflection:

I think that CPEP is a great addition to this senior thesis project. The portfolio allowed me to express and share my ideas and research with the world. I am honored that my project can now be available to those who may find interest in the unique system I have chosen to design.

Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Mohamed Mohamed. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
